Linda Nicol

Founder, Restorative Educators Australia

"Problem-solving and conflict competence are essential cognitive skills that require explicit instruction. Expecting young people with developing brains to lead this work independently is both unrealistic and inequitable. True cultural transformation begins with leadership and is driven by systematic, top-down change."

My Story

With a professional background serving remote Indigenous communities in Far North Queensland, I bring extensive experience in leadership, mentoring, conflict resolution, and the design and implementation of behaviour development systems. As a qualified Guidance Counsellor with a specialisation in Trauma-Informed Education, I am deeply committed to fostering transformative change in school environments.

My work is grounded in the neuroscience of the developing brain, emphasising how an understanding of this critical area can enhance teaching practices and student learning outcomes. By equipping schools to develop conflict competence within their student cohorts through neuroscience and Restorative Practices, I support the establishment of cultures defined by high support and high expectations.

My goal is to help educational institutions transform relationships, fostering cooperation, safety, morale, and productivity across entire school communities. This holistic approach to professional development and culture-building is both my passion and my measure of success.
